Caleb Killian

What do we know about Tech’s potential starter Tuesday night?

9-2, ERA 3.04. Has started 10 games with 9 relief appearances. Fanned 59 in 68 innings, walking 25. Has hit 8 batters so he’ll come inside, and HK doesn’t mind wearing one occasionally. Allowed four taters. Opponents hit .224 against him. He got the win in relief in their win against Kentucky (Jellies won the series 2-1) in early March.

Walks half as many as he strikes out. Looks as though he is either really on or really off & wild.

really don’t know much about him but really won’t matter we have seen better than him and beat better than him,we are hitting the ball well, you got your work cut out for you to go through this lineup 2-3 times without giving 4 or more runs just too much balance in the lineup for somebody not hurting you and when they smell blood you saw what can happen.

Those numbers all look pretty similar to Isaiah Campbell’s; Campbell has the higher ERA, but his K’s/9 innings are better. Campbell gets hit a little more, and has slightly more Walks per 9 innings, but has better “stuff” and his upside is better - when he’s “on”. Don’t know if Killian is as Jekyll/Hyde as Campbell, though.

He gave up 6 runs on 8 hits in 4 innings vs Duke in the super his last outing.
So there is that. But it was by far his worst performance in a while.
Hopefully that’s the Killian we see tomorrow night.

I think Texas Tech has a better offense than Texas. With that in mind hope the young man puts a couple on base in the first inning and gives Heston and Luke a chance to get an RBI. It may take 8 to 10 runs to beat them! This is the game that really is a must win in my opinion. Wait til Friday for the survivor of the loser’s bracket.
The hogs need a solid outing by Murphy.

Murphy will be effective if he’s giving the corners like we were yesterday he gets in trouble when you got a idiot behind the plate like we did With South Carolina. If he can work both sides of the plate Texas Tech will have some problems with him some of their better hitters are left handed
