I am guessing Shreveport if and it is a big, big if, they can somehow get 6. That would be major and Morris will have to do one heck of a coaching job to pull that off.
What drives me crazy about the Bowl schedule this year is that the Playoffs are played on Saturday Dec. 29th. There will be 8 more bowl games played AFTER the Semi-Finals. That makes zero sense to me. That’s like playing the Final Four before the Elite 8.
They should play all the bowl games and then the Semi-Finals and then the NCG.
The playoffs are going to be a moving target every year because college football does not want to compete with the NFL, and neither the Rose Bowl nor Sugar Bowl will move from their New Year’s Day time slots.
There are a lot of variables for Shreveport, namely having enough SEC teams become bowl eligible that Shreveport is able to pick an SEC team. Remember Shreveport gets the last of the litter, even behind Birmingham.
There have not been enough SEC bowl-eligible teams to play in Shreveport two of the past three seasons.
Posts like this are interesting to me. The business of expectation setting is always intriguing.
I think it’s very possible that he “somehow”, “big if” gets to 6. He has as favorable of a schedule as you’re going to get in the SECw and a defense with a real chance to make a big jump with a new, aggressive approach, a good DC and a roster that has several defensive players with the talent to make one of the All SEC (not necessarily first team but 2nd 3rd etc) teams.
They could beat Eastern Ill, Co St, North Tx, Tulsa, Vandy and Ole Miss and get to 6. All of those except CSU are at home.
