Kid really responded to DVH’s admonition last month about being more aggressive. He got up 3-0 then 3-1, but smashed that next one. And clearing the 2 bases makes for the big, timely hit. Still some ball left to play, but I like this 4-0 lead.
yes he has! much better approach.
The homer was big. The next at bat after the umpire called a low strike he took the next pitch straight up the middle. I think he was a little mad about the bad call. He’s seeing the ball well.
He is what he is and has been for the last few years–a guy that gets on base a TON and has some pop. There are people here that completely discount what he brings to the table–a right-handed power threat (in a LH lineup) who gets on base like a leadoff man (actually way better than most–he’s in the .450s). That shows a lack of understanding of his value.
One reason our lineup is so good is we have several guys who grind out at bats. Bonfield is one of those and is very valuable. He would be one of the best hitters on lots of teams.
nobody on here has ever discounted his ability I like DVH just wanted him to be more aggressive and he has and that is why he is hitting.
