A while back someone told me that people in Iowa hold a really high opinion of themselves. It was said that no matter the area, they see themselves as excelling above others. This was after I had returned from Pella, IA and by chance had come across a marching band competion. The bands appeared rather small, so I asked a lady next to me if they were from small towns. No, they were from the larger classifications, even from Des Moines. The point being, the bands at such schools, even from smaller towns, here are much larger. To reinforce the subject and apply it to the Razorbacks, I was amused by Myron Cunningham’s offensive Iine coach’s boast that he had faced SEC-level talent week in and week out. I call that bold talk. Don’t think I’m not glad to have the man on board, we are desperately in need of offensive linemen and he is just what the doctor ordered. It’s just that I’m a bit skeptical of Iowa JCs being stacked with SEC-caliber defensive linemen. Cornfield hubris!

[/quote]Huh? Do not know anything about the level of competition young Mr. Cunningham has encountered, but not sure your example is relevant or your conclusion that sound.
His offer list was certainly 1st rate, I’ll take him.WPS
As will I. All I am saying is I’m skeptical of claims by his position coach that JC D-linemen in Iowa are consistently of SEC quality.
Coach-speak.
But he is third-best junior college offensive lineman in the 2019 class per 24/7.
People! I absolutely love that Myron Cunningham is coming here. Never was there a negative hint about the player. We need him and more like him badly. He will learn soon enough that in the SEC, it means more. He has the measureables to be a promising addition, but you all well know that at the top of the SEC the talent level is NFL quality. That will be something he hasn’t seen week in and week out in Ethanol, Iowa. I am merely poking the Iowa corn hubris.
I love that we have them coming in.I beleive Cunningham is better prepared to step in and start but Nwanna has potential and certainly can’t do any worse than what we had.love they are getting in early and get to work in the weight room…
We could have done a lot worse. Marked improvement.
Eurohog you are spot on with EVERYTHING you said!
After watching our Oline the past 2 years I’d go with all new comers we can come with. Mr Cunningham has to be a makes improvement. It sounds like the coach in Iowa is proud of his players and that’s what should be expected.
When I read the coaches statement about the competition I took it as Hogwash to say the least. I’m happy to have him and he is well thought of no doubt but I’m very skeptical to say the least. Someone obviously thinks he’s a impact player and that’s what we need in the worse way and I thank him for choosing the Hogs . WPS
One will play LT and the other will play another spot on the line.
All about the best five.
