Roper was an All-SWC player for the Razorbacks in 1965. He is best known for blocking two field goals at Texas Tech a year earlier.
A great Razorback. I remember Those two blocks listening on the radio. There was so much riding on that game.
It seemed he was always making key stops in a game. He came up very big in Austin that year.
It is sad to see these stars of our youth passing away. With the passage of time , I realize more and more how unique and talented these teams were. They were truly household names in state of Arkansas at time and great people as well.
