Anthony Black started Team USA’s second group play game vs. Ecuador on Tuesday and defended, rebounded and shared the ball well. Another tough shooting game, but still making an impact:

Hope that shooting improves… and fast. He will be elite if he can shoot effectively… otherwise, guards that can’t shoot create a lot of problems for an offense.

Man, 3 dimes away from a triple-double…awesome job, AB!
And, with these scores, I assume no player is getting more than 20 minutes a game. AB got that near triple-double in just 19 minutes of playing time.
It’s a shame these very talented players are playing such poor teams. It’s an honor to be playing for the USA, but not doing much to enhance their skills, except for their practices leading up to the competition.

I knew Jordan was a swiss army knife, but I had no idea AB was as well. Damn, I’m excited!

I didn’t realize AB was this good defensively. I knew Nick was an elite defender and Jordan had elite defensive skills that just need a little polish. Then add AB and Council, who is planning to be the SEC defensive player of the year. Then throw in Brazile’s 2.5 blocks per game and Devo’s 2 steals a game. It looks like this team, as young as it is, may just end up being Muss’ best defensive team.
I couldn’t wait to see these guys offensively this season. But, the offense may come in second to their defense, especially with Muss as head coach. A magical season is coming in 2022/23!

A Final 4 and potentially beyond team. Best collection of talent since 94-95 nc team.
Ware is really good. Playing next year with AB could have made him better. Regardless, AB is a a big-time point guard, and he’s gonna have a ton of highlight plays next year in The Bud. Muss, very smartly, loaded up with older, extremely athletic bigs, even though (or maybe because) he didn’t land Ware or keep JWill. Can’t wait for basketball season!
