Twice our pitchers retired the side with DiChiara on deck and runners on base. Those were huge outs.

I agree. He’s a pudgy kid for the MLB, but his swing reminds me of Dave Kingman’s; like the bat was just a twig and the ball races off…he also plays a pretty fair 1B.
A couple of food-based nicknames for him. “The burger bomber” and also, based on his walk-up music and Italian last name, they could call him “The Italian Hero”.

If he swung from the other side of the plate, he’d be the baseball equivalent of the late Jared Lorenzen – the Hefty Lefty,
