Andrew Benintendi, Dansby Swanson, and Carson Fulmer: that list is chock full of former SEC players and first round MLB draftees.
Where’s Tanner English?
Oh, I forgot . . . he’s training to win the sprints in the next Olympics . . .
Since you asked, the Usain Bolt of Omaha split the 2016 season between Triple-A and A in the Minnesota Twins’ system (you may notice that Double-A was left out there). Only had 5 games in AAA, where he was a teammate of our own DJ Baxendale. Only 41 games in the minors at all levels last year, so I’m surmising there may have been an injury – or they just discovered he can’t steal first base (hit .235 in high-A last year). He is listed on the Triple-A winter roster though, whatever that means. EDIT: The speedy one was put on the DL April 22, apparently with a concussion, and did not return until late July, when he was sent to rookie ball for a rehab assignment.
