Been off line awhile

I agree - friend turkey breast that been breaded and fried is just simply wonderful with mash potatos - green beans, grilled corn, Ice Tea and sippen Bourbon (Woodford) for desert - around a fire pit - It simply doesnt get any better

I believe we have both played in some of the same hills of the Ozarks from the northern parts of Franklin, Johnson, Yell counties. Even up into Madison & Newton counties.
Beautiful country & some of the best homemade Muscadine Wine & Moonshine makers.

I love the rolling Hills, deep valleys and flowing streams of the Ozark Mountains, I left my heart there on a Ozark Hillside

yes we have seen the same beautiful places and my Love for Arkansas and her people run deep

I admit I was warned by a Mentoring Colonel to hid the fact I was from Arkansas because as he put it “Your fellow Officers will assume you are backward and your minority Troops will assume you are prejudice until you prove otherwise”

he went on to say “Tell everyone your from the Midwest and that the Army is your home and move away from the subject”

I didn’t follow his Sage advise because I love Arkansas so much and all those places you mentioned play a deep part in that love for the land and people - Indeed those prejudices against Arkansas proved to be true but in time I was able to overcome them - by performance and character - a character that is deeply woven and imbued from my youth in Arkansas,

I think that experience gave me some insight into the recruiting challenges Arkansas faces but with effort and character I am sure that can be overcome too

Not ever been a big fan of Muscadine wine and I’ve had some really good Arkansas “Shine” I think the best comes from the Ozarks - for the same reasons the best bourbon comes from Kentucky because of the Fresh limestone filtered natural water and the weather

I miss Arkansas and I hope to see the Arkansas Football program be a national ambassador of excellence and winning for Arkansas again

Yep, Growing up in the lower part of the Ozarks and right on the AR River learning how to live off the land during my first 20 years of life, then got adventurous at 21-22 years of age moving to the hustle & bustle of CA. Took me almost 30 years and plenty of family pressure to get back to my roots (mainly after my daughter finished college in San Diego & my job/career allowed), I only wished I would or could have done it sooner.
Even though I got a lot of ribbing in CA due to my AR heritage but it never once made me less proud of where I was from, mainly as I realized a lot of the west coast was lacking in common sense & those people put their pants on one leg at a time also. Plus the girls seemed to dig my country accent, lol.
Moving back to AR it took a while to adjust to the humidity again, especially in the summers, but the last 10-12 years being back home has been a blessing.

And yes I have faith Chad Morris can bring us back to some glory in football. Certainly has brought the energy and wasnt afraid to clean house after realizing what its gonna take to win in the SEC. Only time will tell.

Hopefully Muss can do the same for the BB program.

Baseball & Track programs just purr right along at the top currently and other sports are up and coming as well. But we need the major money makers (FB & BB) to get back to prominence again.

WPS!!!

I love the story of how the girls “dig” your accent - Yup - I learned to speak with a mid western ascent per guidance from my Mentor but as I got tired my Arkansawer accent came out more - Yes Midwestern and Western girls loved the accent and at least one occasion in a New York City Barrow German restaurant and bar I couldn’t pay for my meal or buy a beer becuase the New Yorkers around me just wanted to hear me talk - it was a great night and a wonderful wedding I was attending for an army buddy

My troops came to respect that I could endure the wailing of nature with them - which I learned in Arkansas in deer stands, Turkey ground blinds, snow and summer camping in the Ozarks before the Army

Arkansas, As I’ve said before I have No connection to UofA - (University of the Ozarks Grad - CofO back in the day) But Ive loved the Arkansas razorbacks as long as I can remember as early as 1963 as I can remember

The Razorbacks were loved by every farmer, every tradesman, every merchant I grew up among the people of Pope, Yell and Johnson County. The Razorbacks were Ambassadors for the whole state.

I get it that times change and If the program continues down the Jeff Long road where every thing is just for the student athlete I’ll happy let them go

I was shocked by a tweet of a former Arkansas Razorback Basketball player who taunted the Fan base for getting Mike Anderson fired “Hope your happy for getting a good man fired and making kids cry” or words to that effect.

Not once did he consider how his play and play of his cherished athlete fraternity had a significant impact on the loss of Coach Anderson?

Well thats a different discussion

My hope Arkansas will once again be ambassadors of excellence where the People of Arkansas can be proud again not just the UofA team
