Baseball TV schedule

Hard to believe one of the Vanderbilt games is not covered. That’s two of the top five teams in the country

SEC Network does not televise baseball like I would. Once basketball season is over, I would fill the weekend programming with baseball and softball coverage, with an emphasis on baseball. I’d have a Saturday tripleheader for baseball, studio show for between games, etc.

I think play-by-play and analyst talent is one of the determining factors in which games are put on TV. If Kyle Peterson, for instance, gets sent to a campus, ESPN often wants to get two games out of him. Many of the SEC’s showcase games this year will include him, I’m sure.

There is another big series the weekend of Arkansas-Vanderbilt, which is Ole Miss-LSU in Baton Rouge. That series will get two network games, deservedly so. But there could be more with a greater emphasis put on baseball by SEC Network. For big college baseball fans — and there are many — having Arkansas-Vanderbilt and Ole Miss-LSU back-to-back would be a treat.

The good news is you can stream every game.

I’m guessing they’ll send KP to Baum for the Rebneck series.

That would be my guess. I could also see him calling the Thursday night game at Florida or the network games against LSU or Mississippi State.

This isn’t surprising, but another TV note: Brett Dolan and Troy Eklund will once again be the broadcast team for Arkansas’ home games on SEC Network-Plus.

Absolutely beyond SEC stupid we are on eight times (and tied for dead last in SEC appearances). They just don’t get it, SEC baseball is growing at an astonishing rate and we (along with several others) are the leading bell-cows.
