Any notes or observations from the 3 Cardinal and White games played at Baum Walker?
A lot of the front-line pitchers were held out because they had thrown enough this fall.
Jake Faherty had a great inning in the second game. He struck out all three hitters he faced in 13 pitches. Jordan Huskey and Ben Bybee threw well that day, too.
Zack Morris had a pretty good four-inning outing in the first scrimmage, which was good for him because he had not been as sharp this fall as he was in the spring.
Ben McLaughlin hit three home runs in the first two scrimmages, and Caleb Cali had a walk-off hit.

But then Faherty had a horrendous inning if I remember… I think he had a couple of wild pitches, hit batter,BB so I think the thing with him is consistency he’s throwing very hard but sometimes he don’t know where it’s going.

There’s a lot of battling going on for spots. Robinett from Missouri had an impressive showing and could play as a freshman! It will be interesting who starts in the spring.
The pitching appears to be deep! It will be fun to see how DVH decides how to use this pitching staff. Hobbs has done a great job. Ledbetter is the wild card. Taggert can start or close. Man it’s going to fun watching them.

yes indeed he had 4 Hr’s this fall
I have a friend that took his son to South Haven for a baseball tournament last week. They went to a small church on Sunday and a man came up and greeted them and ask where they were from.
They told him they were from Northwest Arkansas and were hog fans. The gentlemen told them he attended all the home games last season and some road games he has a grandson on the baseball team. They asked who was his grandson. He is Taggert’s grandpa. That was really neat.

@armyhog, Brady Tygart’s parents and grandparents were a part of our tailgate last year. The entire family is very nice. I enjoyed getting to know them.

Yeah that’s pretty cool… he seems like a good kid
Faherty’s command is much better than it was a year ago. He has gotten better feel for his slider and changeup.

He’s got the velocity, if he can learn to throw it over the plate consistently .he can help us
