Auburn's Kenny Ingram to be Hogs' new DL coach

Per . . .

Steve Caldwell is the connection here. He coached Ingram while he was a player at Arkansas State in 1989.

hasn’t coached on the field in 3 yrs.not sure what to think to be honest.

This appears to be a great choice/fit. I’m excited about this hire!

Going to be a fantastic recruiter in Memphis. I like it.

Youdaman…I am with you on this one. Like I posted on the Recruiting Insider Board on it, I like his connections and it certainly will help a ton with recruiting in Memphis and Eastern Arkansas but no “on-field” coaching in last 3 years has me scratching my head a little on this hire if factual. Maybe he and Caldwell both coach DL? Not bashing the hire, just a little surprised by it. Like you said Youdaman…trusting the coaches on this one!

Check this out.

From reading his was on the field as DL coach at Cincy in 2015 and 2016.

So that would be the 2017 and 2018 seasons he wasn’t on the field - not 3 years.

I respect the heck out of Caldwell’s coaching ability and he know’s Ingram very well. If he’s good then I am too.

thanks Buckhog! I like what I see and hear! physical is the only way you are going to succeed in the SEC.

I think I like it, but what do I know. Respect coach Caldwell. If this is his guy, then that is a good thing. I suspect he will be good on the recruiting trail. I hope so. We have to continue to improve there in a big way.

Has an official statement been made from the UA that confirms the hiring of Coach Ingram? I hope so, I just haven’t seen it.
