Assistant Coaches Salaries

I kept hearing how bad our assistant pay was, so I dug in and sorted it out. Below are the numbers.
I got it all from <LINK_TEXT text=“http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/salarie … /assistant”>http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/salaries/football/assistant</LINK_TEXT>
The % of highest is the number that really let me know how well we pay compared. LSU is at the top. Vandy is at the bottom. As a private school they dont report their salaries. I put them at $1.00. I would imagine that’s close.

It’s just data. Take it as you will.
I tried formatting it, but the forums suck for anything other than text.

Don’t be so sure. Vandy is swimming in money. One salary we do know is that their AD, David Williams, is the highest paid AD in the country. He makes three times what Jeff Long makes.

Yeah, but isnt he more than just an AD? I have a hard time believing Vandy will ever take athletics seriously. They are probably in the 2.5-3 range is my guess.

He’s a vice chancellor (as is JL), general counsel for the Vandy med center, and tenured law professor. But a lot of his reported income is deferred/retirement money that keeps piling up even though he’s not pocketing it yet.

Vandy is also talking about spending $90 million or more for a new stadium to replace the current one, and has spent a lot on a new football/indoor track building ($31 million) baseball complex ($12 million), and the athletic training center ($7 million) in the past year. That’s some pretty serious money for a small school. They might share the new stadium with a possible MLS expansion team in Nashville.

Yes, with all his titles at Vandy, they should just give him the title of “King”. I know he’s their “General Counsel” and a law professor. There are more, but I don’t remember them all.
