At somewhere around the time UA quietly announced CMA was getting a contract extension during the bumpy start to SEC play…Mike Anderson said, “I believe this is the best team I’ve had here”. If true, then the 5 seniors and 1st Round NBA talent Gafford fabulously underachieved to finish a semi-mediocre season. Being one of the best 64 BB teams is better than a NIT invite, but more was expected 7 years ago when we brought the same coach who produced magic at UAB and post season success at Mizzou. Thanks to Jeff Long rewarding a slightly better than middle of the SEC hoops program, we’re stuck at this level through 2022.
