Arkansas vs. LSU, SEC Tournament

Just one note, Kyle Peterson tweeted last night that he was headed for Hoover and would be there for tonight’s games. So he may be calling our game with Tom Hart?

This, of course, will be a very tough one with Skenes on the bump and LSU’s offense is as potent as ever. Hagen will be hard pressed to match Skenes. But somebody got a two-run jack against Skenes last week so he’s not untouchable.

The hogs are due to have an offensive explosion!
A hope that happens tonight.

To me as a fan, at this point the SEC tournament means very little to me win or lose. I’m sure the players when they take the field want to win. I’d not want to have players that didn’t. All I’m thinking is get some practice, avoid any injuries, get as many people healthy as possible, and just be ready for the real deal to start back in Fayetteville for the Regional.

I just didn’t want to see us lose on the 1st day. Anything now is gravy.

Remember we did beat LSU in Baton Rouge the game that Skenes pitched

Hollan was amazing that day

Yes. If the weather wouldn’t have caused a double header who knows how that series would have played out.

Right. Their bats got hot in the first game and stayed hot. Matt and Bubba were talking about that in the podcast posted today.

And Reese Robinett hit the big three-run homer in the 10th. Talk about somebody who has fallen off the map…

Even though this early session is speeding along, I’ve been told the Arkansas game won’t start before 4:30 p.m.

And Neville and Jones. Struggling frosh.

Yesterday was win #40 which is a nice milestone. DVH has won at least 45 games every complete season since 2017. Not there yet, but you gotta win #40 before you get to 45. I don’t think we’re likely to win the tournament, but a win would get him to 43 this year before the regional even starts.

I have really wondered what happened with him

He was so hot early on

It is LSU vs. Arkansas, not the other way around.

Corndogs never come first as far as I’m concerned.

Skenes has been assumed (rightfully) but has he been officially announced? LSU is a pretty good betting favorite with Skenes.

Yes, Skenes is pitching today. I confirmed that last night.

Skene’s is the best I have seen in College.

High velo and outstanding offspeed to go with it…

He throws strikes so you might as well go up ready to swing and hope you run into one. Todd Walker and Delucci both great great players said that you had to be ready for the fastball early in the count you cannot let him get ahead of you in the count or he will bury you…I saw South Carolina hit him better than anybody has and it was because they were very aggressive. He’s cocky so he’s going to challenge you .Just go up there get your swings off and if you don’t hit it go back and sit down and try again. I think it helps that we have seen him before.

Hopefully Hagen can give us 7 and maybe we can get to the terrible bullpen the LSU has.

Skene is amazing. Watching him pitch us earlier in the year, the only chink in his armor that I could see (and it was very slight) was that he doesn’t do as well pitching from the stretch. Not much of an issue when he is so hard to get on base against. Just something to watch for in this game.

When Skenes is aroused, the results can be spectacular.
