Arkansas Specialists Camp Saturday Tidbits...

Arkansas has two camps today with the specialists camp up first and a night camp beginning at 5 p.m.

The specialists - which should be around 30 - are registering right now and the camp is scheduled to run through 2:30 p.m.

Four of the Top 10 - according to Jamie Kohl’s ranking - are expected to be here today.

  1. Noah Rauschenberg, 6-2, Tulsa, Okla,
  2. Michael Lantz, 5-11, Stars Mill, Ga.
  3. Ryan Hanson, 6-2, Taylor, Texas - also a punter
  4. Alex Felkins, 6-4, Tulsa, Okla.

Chris Sailor has Carson Garrett, 5-11, Dallas at No. 8 in his kicker rankings

The camp also has some punters and deep snappers.

The top two ranked long snappers are Luke Smith from Lebanon, Tenn., and Aiden Kneller of Greenwood, Co.

Chris Rubio Long Snapping has Smith ranked sixth while Kohl has Kneller ranked 8th.

There is expected to be two Arkansas kids here in Jonesboro’s 2019 P/K Garrett Childers and 2020 Fayetteville kicker Huxley Richardson.

Tanner Burns does a good job of getting kids to campus.

65-yard field goal to win the field goal competition.

Yep, a 65-yarder.

Speaking of kickers, Catholic High had a great one last year. Does anybody know where he’s going to college?

Also, does UA expect to have quality freshmen walk on kickers this year?

Heard Chris was going to walkon at Arkansas but I haven’t confirmed it.

I’m curious if the North Little Rock kicker is going to try to play college ball.

DD? A friend of mine has a son that kicks at Glenrose, Colby Steed. He was up there today, how’d he look?

I didn’t see him.

I’ll be honest. I was mostly watching the 3 that have the best chance to get a scholarship from Arkansas in the 2019 class.

That was Michael Lantz, Noah Rauschenberg and Alex Felkins.

Lantz and Rauschenberg were 1-2 in virtually every competition.

Luke Rizzo swept the deep snapping categories.

He might of walked up and signed up at the last minute, but he wasn’t preregistered.

Assume no or light wind? Would the kick have cleared the line of scrimmage?

presumably at this camp they kick as though it was college and not high school? By that I mean no little tee for kicking field goals, I don’t know if they even still use those in high school.

Makes sense. I don’t think we’re quite ready for a female kicker at the college level around here.

Colby was there.

Only if Petrino were still the Coach, sorry I couldnt help myself.

Actually, no. Women have a place in Petrino’s view of a football program, but that place is in the adjoining office with a secret connecting door.

It was 94 degrees and I didn’t feel any breeze out there.

And yes, it had plenty of height and distance. It would have been good from 70 likely. But that is, of course, with no rush.

It was not a secret door. It was a real one.

I know it was a real door, but it wasn’t supposed to be public knowledge.

Dang it, Dudley knew about “the door” and its purpose & kept tight lipped about it???
That’s a true professional right there.
