The Razorbacks softball team jumped three spots to No. 16 in today’s USA Today/NFCA top 25 poll, and freshman pitcher Mary Haff earned another league honor after a stellar week.
They are playing awfully well and deserve this ranking. Unless some major setback takes place, they should easily exceed the school records for wins (36). They have 33 now with I believe 12 games left. Hope we can keep Courtney Deifel around for a while. She’s got the program rolling.
There are nine games left, beginning with Auburn this weekend. Regardless, Deifel is doing a tremendous job. She gave tons of credit to her assistants when I was over there a couple of weeks ago. Hannah McEwen and Mary Haff, both freshmen, have had special seasons.
OK, I miscounted. I thought they played 27 SEC games, not 24. May not break the record easily but should get to 37 or 38 regular-season wins.
Regardless it’s a job well done!
