Highly regarded cornerback Brad Stewart, 6-1, 190 pounds of McDonogh 35 High School in New Orleans said he hasn’t had a chance to set up official visit up yet, but looks like that will happen.
He has scholarship offers from Arkansas, Mississippi State, Florida, Florida State, Ole Miss, Florida State and others. ESPN rates him the No. 13 safety and No. 193 overall prospect in the nation. He visited the Hogs for the spring game.
His cousin is Hog freshman linebacker Giovanni LaFrance.
Completely irrelevant to the recruiting discussion, but I have always been curious about why there is a number in the name of that high school. Their Wikipedia page notes that there was an elementary school called McDonogh 13 which was converted into the McDonogh 35 high school in 1917, but the number in either name is not explained.
Oh well, this just proves there are some questions even Google can’t answer. Maybe it’s just a New Orleans thang we can’t understand…
