Analysis: Hogs' defense stout in November

Mike Anderson hoped for a defensive-minded team this preseason, and so far he’s got one. Here’s my in-depth look at Arkansas’ defense through the first month of the season and how it compares to past Novembers: http://www.wholehogsports.com/news/2018 … -november/

Good stuff Scottie, thanks

The good part is it’s probably only going to get better as the season moves along.

[/quote]I concur. As Scottie noted, this is the best early season defensive performance the Hogs have seen since 2013, and it’s been done with 4 new starters, and a gaggle of other new players. While I regret the loss in Texas to Texas at that neutral site ;), that was this new group’s very first game. Played today, I’d suggest it would be a W.

This team should develop a lot, offensively, during the next 10 games.

Great article.

One thing that I have noticed lately is that, when the second unit comes on the floor for their first run, the opposition has a lot of horizontal lines in their game flow. The second unit seems to be playing excellent defense as well, and they bring a changeup with more pressure.

This team really is fun to watch. Give me a little better free throw shooting + a little more flow in the halfcourt offense, then we’ll be cooking.
