Alex does well in Ravens game

. . . and Ryan Mallett even had a TD pass to account for Baltimore’s only score in their loss to Jacksonville this morning.

Alex carried 9 times for 82 yards. Hope he finally settles in and has a good run there.

But now we get to the real question: Did Budda and Mallett kneel or stand up for the national anthem? The game started way too early for me but I hear there was a lot of kneeling on both teams.

[/quote]You know, I’ve decided to quit worrying about that. And, I believe, once the media quits making a big deal out of it, 90% of these guys will also lose interest in it.

IMO, most of them are just band-wagoners who love the attention. Not all of them, to be sure. But a lot of them.

Just ignore it . . .

I think a lot more players, particularly African-Americans, agree with Kaepernick and his position but they haven’t been willing to show it publicly by taking a knee. With Trump’s actions and words this weekend, more of them were pushed toward public protest. And it is likely to go beyond black players in my opinion. The Steelers decided not to be on the field at all for the national anthem today and we may see more of that. The Hogs are never on the field for the national anthem, after all.

Further update: ESPN.com is documenting players who kneeled, etc. Neither Budda nor Mallett did. But Trey Flowers and Deatrich Wise both did at the Patriots-Texans game.

People are DOCUMENTING? Good God. Is this the Stasi?

Good question. On the other hand, it’s not like any of them are doing this in secret. The whole point of it is to be noticed.

The NFL should go back to doing the Anthem prior to the players coming out. That was done prior to 9-11. It would go away quickly.

I think it’s deportable to not honor the Anthem but it’s their right of free speech. My dad march with Patton across France and Germany to fight for freedom.

It’s just another opportunity to divide our nation.

I gave up on the NFL years ago. Just because it bores me. So I really could care less.

I’m done with the NFL. I will not be watching and I hope a lot of others choose to do the same so they will get the message.

This has gotten ridiculous.

I love the Steeler’s player that came out of the locker room and stood in the tunnel with his hand on his heart during the national anthem. He’s the one we all should be talking about.

I didn’t watch a game last year and will not this year. I don’t miss it one bit.

They may be hogs, but they are not heroes. I will no longer cheer on Trey and Deatrich. What they did is disrespectful, and an embarrassment to every man and woman who paid the ultimate sacrifice or served. Shows how ignorant and entitled so many can be.

They didn’t protest during the National Anthem. So I can’t really have a problem with symbolism of unity. They only knelt for about 2 seconds Pre Anthem, and then stood.

Classic stolen thread after one post on Ryan and Alex.
