I’ve been on here a while, I mostly just try to get any info I can,but think this is my first post. So if this has already been posted, I apologize…Since we are searching for both an AD and a coach, wouldn’t it make sense to base your decision for one according to the experience of the other. An experienced AD could help out a less experienced head coach with day to day decisions ( if we end up with a coordinator moving up),but if our AD has no experience, there has to be a pretty large learning curve. On the flip side, if we have an experienced head coach, the experience of the AD doesn’t seem quite as important, just curious what you guys thought.
An AD will not be hired that doesn’t bring something to the table as far as experience. Too important of a job. Head coach will probably have to be at least a coordinator in P5. Wouldn’t think the ad has a lot to do with helping the coach other than getting him what he wants and needs to be successful. Mho.
A new AD with no AD experience and a new head coach with no head coach experience would be different. I’m not saying it couldn’t happen, but probably won’t.
