Pray for us both! I hope this is the best dog ever…lol…I’m giving up a lot today for her.

what kind? If I could I would buy a Australian Shepard…
Our first pup was an Australian Shepard. We lived on 40 acres with horses and some cattle. The plan was to have her help herd the cattle. Probably failed because I was a poor trainer. But Daisy was a great pet and companion. She helped raise our two girls. Lots of tears when she passed away. Mike, I wanted another Australian Shepard but Suzi wanted a smaller dog for our condo. Mr. Bojangles is a great one. We love him.
What is it?
Puppy pics or it didn’t happen.
the mini-Australian Shepard?
The frame, the look and hair, but smaller…
We have one. (Aussie). They are great if you want your dog to be smarter than you. They need a job or be prepared to get them lots of play and exercise. Ours gets about 2 hours of walks per day and wants a lot more. They don’t like everyone like a lab and ours is definitely particular about other dogs. Most importantly, he really loves me and I get a major celebration when I come home.
R’black, you’ve started a real thread! I love reading/hearing about other humans loving their pups. I’m lucky enough to have a female German Shorthair Pointer (fantastic athlete) and a male Griffon Wirehair Pointer. In my younger years I was pretty demanding on labs, but I’ve become a big softy with these two, and wouldn’t have it any other way.
Plus - @ClayHenry can ask “Tinker”…they are dang good hunters.
You can’t go wrong on labs. But there are other breeds that are also fantastic.
My golden retriever is my 2nd of the breed. I also had a lab. I’m interested in other breeds but dang, these goldens are in my blood.
I have 2 Boxers. One older and one a year old. The older one is the best dog I have ever had.
Aloha,
I think you had a better day than any of us. Happy for you and your new puppy,
UA…Campus of Champions
Yes happy 4 you. I would take an Australian Shepherd, wife says no, LOL
I got my wife a Cavapoo for her birthday. We have a two year old Jack Russell now. A year ago we had to put down our 4 year old Lab. Our lab got cancer and it was aggressive. Our Jack has never been the same.
We are hoping the new pup will help the Jack out with his issues of missing his big brother.
Our lab was the most loving and caring dog I’ve ever had. But let me tell you, he could shed a pound of hair an hour.
My wife wore me down about getting another dog. Then we got Bojangles. I’ve thanked her many times. Your pup is adorable.
Yep @acrux1856 those German Shorthaired Pointers do make good gun dogs! This is a picture of my Colt on the day that he finished his field championship (something that I never thought one of my dogs would win.)
