It reminded me of an interview with Tom Penders back in the 90s when he was coach at Texas and Nolan was Rollin’. Ponders was asked about playing Arkansas and he told this story (paraphrased): I was watching tape of Arkansas and saw one of their players just explode off the floor to intercept a pass at the top of his leap. I thought, ‘Was that Day or Mayberry?’ It was so athletic. Turns out it was a freshman who doesn’t play much. Darrell Hawkins. DARRELL HAWKINS!”
His point: Arkansas has super athletes all the way down the bench and that makes them really tough to handle.
That’s what I thought of when Darious Hall dunked on Bucknell.
