After the Final Four.
Very cool!
Love it. Giving back already. Love love love it.
He announced this few weeks ago. Never known any student athlete to do this. Leaving no doubt he is gone after this year. IMO, should have waited to announce this until after the season is over.
His mother raised him right!! He is paying back for what others have given him. Setting a great example.
Because there was ever any doubt that he was one and done?
C’mon, man.
Very proud that AB is giving back.
I think NIL etc allows them to do this now as a student athlete.
The cost to attend the 4 hour camp is $150.
Correct. He could do this under NIL and maintain eligibility. He’s leaving but this doesn’t solidify that fact.
So another words, the kids attending are giving back.
NextGen nil agreement. No hog on that jersey!
He’s probably not allowed to have the hog on the jersey. I wasn’t allowed for Pinion to say “Arkansas Razorback” in my commercials, he could say “Arkansas Basketball player” etc but I could not use the word Razorback or Hog.
Is that an NCAA rule or something the University would not let Pinion do?
Strange but not surprising. I still say kudos to AB for hosting the camp. Money or not he could have been anywhere he wanted to be. He obviously loves his time here!
PJ, best I know it was the university but I will be honest that I don’t know for sure. We had recorded a cut with Arkansas razorbacks and someone at the university caught wind of it and gave my advertising guy phone call. I was never directly involved so I can’t say exactly what was relayed, just that we can’t use those words.
Not surprised at all.AB is a good guy
That’s right because it’s NIL which isn’t sanctioned by UA. It’s essentially an independent contractor who doesn’t have licensing rights.
AB is definitely a good guy, But I am puzzled why some in this thread are equating hosting a camp to being a good guy. This is a business deal for him and not charity work.
My grandson has attended Bobby Portis camp each year. We paid $40 each year. I never felt the urge to go and thank Bobby for hosting the camp.,
I have seen how he carries himself in interviews and on the court and that tells me he is a very caring person…it has nothing to do with a financial agreement.
You are correct huntin. I believe my accountant sent out a 1099 for NIL deals.
