A pair of Hogs carry USA into 4x100 final

Tyson Gay ran the third leg and Jarrion Lawson ran the anchor leg to win their semifinal and advanced USA into tomorrow’s 4x100 final against the Usain Bolt led Jamaica in tomorrow’s final. Mike Rodgers and Chris Coleman were other members of the team.

For the final, Justin Gatlin and Travoyn Bromell will join Mike Rdgers and either
Gay or Lawson in the final. There is speculation that Lawson may run the anchor again in the final. US coaches were quite pleased with the way he ran the anchor today. And Gay has had a terrible time with the baton in important finals.

Once again, the best USA can hope for is a silver. The gold will go again to Jamaica. Hate medals going to Jamaica. I have had enough of it for the last three Olympics. Hopefully it will change in Tokyo.

Do those who run (or swim) to get their countries qualified for relays in the prelims and semis all recieve medals if their team finished 1-3 in the finals or do only those who run in the finals recieve medals?

Yes, every athlete that ran in the prelims and early rounds but did not run in the finals, will get the medal. They don’t get to go on the podium at the medal ceremony, but they do receive the medal.
