A note from Tuesday’s practice

Movement at tight and has been the norm over the last month. Today, Trey Knox worked out with the group. He played 3 offensive snaps at receiver against Rice.

I like this. He seems to have the body for it. I don’t know about his strength level, but maybe this is a place where he can have an impact and be able to get separation. How is his run blocking?

I guess the coaches have lost all faith in Hudson Henry.

I haven’t seen Trey up close recently but he didn’t have the biggest frame the last time I saw him.

Knox said early in camp that he put on around 15 pounds and was in the 218-220 pound range. I think he can be a capable run blocker, but I frankly haven’t seen enough of him doing it to really say.

Don’t know if Briles would ever go with a 2 TE set, but if so, he might have Kerns tight and send Knox wide, to get him one on one with a LBer. Should be a good match up for him
