Comments- yeah clearly a keeper, it makes a world of difference when you are in a program that complements your skills sets…I understand he currently leads the SEC conference under the columns assist to turnover
Imagine Jalen instead of Anton Beard on last year’s team.

Yes, and he’s tied for 2nd in the country in A to TO ratio. Only behind Trey Jones of Duke.
So far I like what I have seen from Jalen and he is doing mostly what I expected of him, except a couple of things, one good and one not so good.
On the good side, I am surprised how high he can get up for rebounds and layups. He must have one of the best vertical leaps on the team. The guy can sky.
On the not so good side, he seems to have trouble finishing at the hoop on driving contested layups and ends up throwing up prayers like Beard used to do.
His three point shot is not falling as often and he seems to hesitate and pass on it, but as Mike says that will change. However what is working well is a pull up mid range jumper.
Hogs have the makings of an excellent PG for the next three years. And if Justice Hill stays away from Football, they will have quite a 1-2 punch at the PG spot for the next two seasons.
Your point about him not finishing well at the rim is pretty spot on. I’ve been charting each player’s shots this season, and Jalen is 5/12 at the rim – two dunks – and 9/20 in the paint. He hit a pair of midrange jumpers against FIU on Saturday. Coming into the game he was 1/5 on those looks.
