Wow. I’m wondering who thought we’d see a stat like that for Harris when he transferred from UNM? He plays under control, including one unbelievable pass to Gafford for a vicious dunk. And, three boards. I need to add that I was impressed in the second half by TAMU’s Starks as he took advantage of our foul trouble, but he even had 3 turnovers.
What a stabilizing influence for our young team. Wps
Yes, Harris is a very steady hand at the point and if our guys can start shooting at a higher percentage from the field his assists per game would climb even further.
37% yesterday from the field, but still a victory.
I love Harris. If he can get his outside shot back to even what it was previously, or ideally improve on that, you are looking at an all-SEC PG. He just has to make folks pay when they drop off of him so much.
But I love the kid. So explosive. Unbelievable hops. Smart. Savvy. Takes care of the ball. Plays D. Has heart.
I love Sills too. Talk about heart.
Honeslty, I love our backcourt players. Period. They just need seasoning. Joe is an all-American next year IMO.
His ability to create off the dribble and dish will help us reduce long scoring droughts that we have sometimes seen in the past. He has the ability to keep our offense from becoming too passive.
That’s a great observation, I was thinking that myself when watching him play last night. It seemed like when things slowed down on offense, he’d settle everyone down, direct traffic, and get us a good shot. He set Mason Jones up for several good shots he just missed a lot of them, I watched the press conference and Harris said he told Jones and Joe to keep shooting he’d get them shots he knew the percentages would even out.
We’ll have a better feel for this team in about 2 weeks. Florida, LSU, Tennessee and Ole Miss. I was thinking maybe 2-3 counting A+M. I counted A+M as a win. If we split those 4, we’ll be in pretty good shape.

[/quote]I can’t envision a win in Knoxville (but, maybe later in the season). But, I think we’ll have a really good idea of the team’s strengths by Saturday night. And actually, a win against the Gators (after their loss) would be huge.
