Gunnell, 6-6, 200 of St. Pius X High School in Houston has scholarship offers from Florida State, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Houston, Northwestern, Texas State and Central Arkansas. Gunnell’s grandfather Jim Price played linebacker for the Hogs’ 1964 national championship team.
Offensive coordinator Dan Enos watched him throw last week. It wouldn’t be a big surprise if the Hogs extend an offer at some point.
All these honors should be considered in light of the fact that there are only 16 teams in TAPPS Division I. It’s kinda like being all-state Class 7A in Arkansas. You may be a very good player, but there’s not a whole lot of competition.
According to MaxPreps, Gunnell threw for nearly 5,000 yards this season, with 70% completions. That’s pretty good production against anyone. He threw two picks in their playoff loss to Bishop Dunne, though.

[/quote]The article I read also mentioned Brian Williams (Bishop Dunne) as a 4 star prospect committed to Texas ---- which I had not heard that he had committed and hope it is incorrect. I thought we had a chance with all his ties at Arkansas.
