Thanks for the update. Appreciate your hard work. .

Still disadvantaged to be in DC. But cannot find reference to a shooting guard from Waldron I saw reference to a year or so back. Has he graduated or is he not a high level prospect? ~Mac

Payton Brown is committed to UCA. He is a junior at Waldron now.

Dudley, Thomas tweeted out he was committed to Colorado St earlier today

Thanks for the update Dudley! I don’t see any rebound heft except maybe Hawkins. All the bigs are skinny runners. We need some bigs that can battle under the basket!

I see that the Bank of Ben Howland is in the mix for Hawkins services.
Not good for a clean program like Arkansas.

Go Hogs!

I don’t think SEC has many bruisers as you want. What SEC has some long guys with long arms that are jumping over to us to get the rebounds. I am hoping these guys are long.

Also there is a 6-10 guy sitting on the bench redshirting that seems well put together in the Reggie Chaney type of frame. This guy will either contribute next year or will not be here.

PJ, why do you think Mike has taken so many projects in the last classes? Has he struck out elsewhere?

On the current roster, I would only list Ali and Osabuohien that he knowingly took as projects. And I mark it down to giving out the 13th scholarship to fill the roster after late departures of Hall and CJ last year and also giving a 13th scholarship to Osabuohien.

But Baylor saw something in Ali and we had to have him decommit from Baylor to sign him. Maybe Baylor wanted him out just like some claim Missouri wanted Mike out. Who knows but I ignore those hindsight claims. I still think Ali is going to be a solid SEC big man by junior year for Mike or the next coach or some other school. Saying this without having seen him play a single minute, of course.

Mike likes to develop players. He gets his coaching kicks out of it. So he loves to sign these on. I personally disagree with that strategy. I would rather leave the 13th scholarship open, in case there is a graduate transfer or late blooming Juco.

I think we all agree that Henderson is not a project, but I believe all of us including Mike are surprised by lack of his progress. He was ESPN Top 190 guy. When I saw him as a 9th grader, I thought he was a can’t miss big time. We all thought Gafford, Chaney and Henderson would give us a solid front court. Sigh!

I’m shell shocked at the lack of progress out of Henderson to this point. I sure thought he would be able to play and provide some help.

Can anyone talk about the kid from Marion? Dudley, you seen him play? Is he a scorer, three specialist like joe, defender? Point or two guard?

I have not seen Detrick Reeves play yet.

Crafty scorer. Good mid-range game. Finds ways to finish. Gets to the rim. Knows how to use his body and finish. Decent shooter. Undersized 2-guard. Good kid. I’ve seen him a ton.

Marion will be in the state championship in Hot Springs this weekend. Their big kid can play.

How big is their big kid? Also I’m always hoping the hogs add players that can score from the 3, the mid range, at the rim and for sure can knock down free throws.
The hogs need a few bigs to be able to play down low! The room for guards is limited unless rheee are some departures that aren’t know at this time. Justice Hill is a guard and already on campus.

Friend who’s kid played against him and is a true 6-4 says he is at least 4 inches taller than his kid. Likes him much better than the West Memphis kid. Will see him on Thursday myself.

Is the National signing day window 17 April to 15 May 2019? Is that why we are still seeing only one commitment for 2019 or is it waiting to see what shakes out after the season about how many slots we will have to actually accept letters of intent? Or something else? I’m puzzled why the primary prospects we are recruiting haven’t committed.
