A few thoughts:

  • This is a big class, so it would not be surprising to see some never make it to campus, whether that be by way of the draft or going to junior college.

  • The headliners include Patrick Wicklander, Josh Breaux and Wade Beasley.

  • This list does not include Connor Noland because he will be on football scholarship.

  • Noland, Mays-Hunt, Beasley and McCullough all have played on the same travel team.

What about preferred Walkons for this class?

It’s difficult to know who is on scholarship and who is a walk-on. That list includes walk-ons, for sure, but I do not know who they are. Once they sign a letter of agreement, Arkansas can officially announce them as a signee.

Some of those are probably on academic scholarships. That probably means they are walk-ons.

Didn’t think the list included walkons because they don’t sign NLI’S and schools can’t comment on guys they have not signed NLI’s.

If they have some sort of academic scholarship, they can sign an NLI and usually they are on the list that is announced. For example, James McCann was an academic scholarship at the highest level. He was announced on the signing list. FYI, James has moved to Franklin, Tenn. That’s closer to Jessica’s home and that will be necessary when their twins arrive in a few months.

Thanks Clay for the clarification. Didn’t know about the Academic scholarship deal.

what Kind of class is this? who are the impact players?

ok thanks, yeah never know who makes it to campus.

How egregious was Kam’ron’s offense that got him sent packing?

Hogs got a commitment from a RHP from Crowder today whose cousin signed twice with the Hogs before signing with the Cincinnati Reds.

From what I was told, his removal from Bentonville’s team was the accumulation of some minor incidents, nothing major.

Being a college baseball coach has to be one of the toughest balancing acts in sport. Can you imagine a football or basketball coach losing a high percentage of their signed recruits to the pro’s every year and managing expectations that comes at this level? DVH deserves a lot of credit for putting us in the best position year after year.

Is there a ranking for this class? Or do they wait too see who actually makes it too school?
