Never tell a cricket what a frog said about' him

At the next social gathering, the frog will be without him

For woodland creatures, unkind words impact them like a boulder

Causing them to sport a giant chip upon their shoulder

It's impolite to tell a cricket to "stick it"

Or a frog to "go jump in the lake"

A cricket has no volume in which to "stick it"

And a frog will say, "Give me a break!"

Crickets keep personal things to themselves

They do not use Facebook at all

Frogs have no books lining their bookcase shelves

Delicious treats fill every stall

Crickets communicate mostly at night

In chorus they all go for broke

Frogs sound off too until dawn's early light

But the best they can do is a "croak"

I have never personally met

A cricket philosopher

If a frog should expound it's a pretty safe bet

That mass exits would occur

Crickets are sociable creatures

Frogs tend to be solitary

Crickets have no distinguishing features

And frogs are not known to be merry

A cricket is a creature of diminutive size

Who sports quite a large appetite

A frog boasts and postures in front of the guys

But he's not of much use in a fight

Crickets are not blessed with eloquent diction

They're not silver-tongued-speaking sorts

Frogs don't say much, - - but they speak with conviction

They're veterans of foreign warts

Crickets make sound by rubbing their legs

Together, believe it or not

A frog can just croak, but he constantly begs

To be given a Forest Choir spot

A lone cricket does not emit much sound

With great numbers they are heard clearly

Frogs snap up crickets with a single bound

So loudmouth crickets pay dearly
