Crickets don't raise crops

And frogs do not dance

Neither respects cops

Or cross-bred romance

A cricket can't really hop all that far

And a frog is many times his size

But a cricket's drink tab at the Forest Glade Bar

Is much less than most of the guys

Crickets and frogs do not torment folk

Like flies and mosquitoes and lice

They don't keep repeating the same worn out joke

They figure that once will suffice

Gophers and moles burrow unsightly holes

Precisely where you do not want them

Crickets and frogs alert neighborhood dogs

To gather to bark and to taunt them

Crickets and frogs are not known to be brainy

They have no cerebral traditions

Frogs are quite happy when weather turns rainy

While crickets prefer dry conditions

A cricket has a shell and a frog has a skin

A frog is robust and a cricket is thin

Neither of the two have a follicle of hair

And neither the cricket nor the frog really care

It's 2:20 AM, and I'm wide awake

I need a critter concert, for goodness' sake

If you're early to bed, - - and late to rise

You'll be robbed by a cricket in a frog disguise

A cricket doesn't Rock

And a frog doesn't Roll

They don't come from stock

That possesses a soul

A cricket doesn't stick it to a frog, - so I've been told

The frog returns the favor, - since a cricket's hard to hold
