I have much to do and little to say

'Cause football's still five months away

My nights are filled with sawing the logs

And listening to the crickets and frogs

These days are seemingly filled with frustration

Due to negative posts and misinformation

"Hope" and "good cheer" are being thrown to the dogs

NO WONDER I'm hearing the crickets and frogs!!!

We'll have the Spring "Game"

And then, here comes Summer

The hot weather time frame

For me is a bummer

BUT, - - THEN football comes around

That's MY time of year

The crickets and frogs sound

Will fade from my ear

The Pathway of Life has its turns and its jogs

And at least one side road has its crickets and frogs

I bravely press onward through storms and through fogs

Soothed by the sounds of the crickets and frogs

Nature is sometimes a pain in the shorts

Crickets sing off-key and frogs give me warts

"Hard work" is said to breed "success"

We need some breeding Hogs

We're playing more - - and winning less

(And crickets don't reproduce frogs)

"Froggie went a'courtin', so I've been told

But young cricket dandies are not so bold

Young froggie maidens will fall for a toad

But cricket Romeos are told to "hit the road"

I'm not a frog - - - - - - and I'm not a cricket

I'm a Razorback Hog - - - - - - - - and Texas can stick it

"Pretty is as pretty does"

But crickets and frogs are now the buzz
