Re: Bielema's buyout

Per Mike Irwin over on Hogville, something occurred with Bret’s buyout status freeing up the money to Fire Mike, pay him his buyout, and offer a substantial pay raise to the next coach. Every name I’ve seen but Beard and the NBA guys the supposed $3-4 million would be substantial. Beard, only becau...

Re: Bielema's buyout

No one or college other than the U of A is foolish enough to pay $3 million per year or even $1 million per year. Outside the NFL, at best he can get a head coaching job at some small college paying up $500,000 per year or an assistant, but not top assistant paying almost that amount. The rest is o...

Re: MA Firing

I was delighted when MA was hired and I can understand how difficult his first 2 or 3 years would be. However, the firing of MA is long overdue. Whatever the reasons be they outdated coaching, poor recruiting, or inadequate assistants, MA record at Arkansas is not adequate to satisfy the fans and th...

Re: Worst Team in the last fifty years?

No way would I give Morris 4 years. I would expect some improvement in year two and being competitive in the SEC by year 3. Neither Broyles, Holtz, Hatfield, nor Nutt, needed more than two years to win. I'm not interested in excuses; only performance. Perhaps there could be valid reasons for the ex...

Re: Anderson still confused by Hall's transfer

Most all basketball male players believe they are the second coming of Michael Jordan. Therefore, if they are not starting, the coach is a fool or has a grudge. Nolan spoke about a junior high player, that wasn't even starting, let alone being the star, asking, "What do I have to do to play in the N...

Re: Gafford and NBA

If he keeps playing like he did against Indiana, he will be a top 5 draft pick and, in that case, staying one more year (not two more years) was a very smart move since he will earn considerably more during the next two years than he would have in his first three years.
